GaffMates is a free noticeboard for rooms in shared houses in Sydney, run by Irish Around Oz (Palmer Productions LLC). Questions: [email protected].

What GaffMates is, and isn’t

We show rooms that people list, so the people looking can contact them. We are not a real estate agent. We don’t inspect rooms, check anyone’s identity, write agreements or handle any money. Any arrangement is between you and the other person, so check everything yourself before you agree to anything.

Staying safe

• Never pay a deposit, bond or rent before you’ve seen the room in person and met the people.
• GaffMates never asks you for money.
• If someone asks for money up front, or anything looks off, tap Report on the room.

If you list a room

• You must be 18 or over, and the room must be real and yours to rent out (or you have permission).
• Keep the details and photos accurate and current, and follow the law that applies to renting the room.
• Don’t post anything unlawful, misleading, offensive or discriminatory, and don’t post anyone else’s photos or details without permission.
• Rooms stay up for 14 days. Use your private link to renew, mark the room as taken or delete it.

Our part

We check rooms before they go live and we can refuse or remove any listing at any time. We do our best to keep GaffMates running and accurate but can’t promise it always will be. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
